Loh Kean Yew pulls out of Swiss Open after testing high-quality for COVID-19


SINGAPORE — Singapore's reigning badminton world champion Loh Kean Yew has pulled out of this week's Swiss Open, after he demonstrated tremendous for COVID-19.

The Singapore Badminton affiliation (SBA) advised chinese daily Lianhe Zaobao on Tuesday (22 March) that the 24-year-historic, who clinched the distinguished World Championships men's singles title remaining December, had proven high quality for the coronavirus remaining Friday, while he become taking half in the All England Open in Birmingham.

An SBA spokesperson noted that Loh has light COVID-19 indicators, and his existing condition ability that he can neither take part within the Swiss Open in Basel, nor return home to Singapore, unless he has verified poor.

Loh, who is ranked world No.9, become speculated to face Dutch world No.25 Mark Caljouw within the opening circular of the Swiss Open. Caljouw has also pulled out of the competitors because of own factors.
