verify ILI, SARI patients for COVID-19: Centre Asks States Amid Surge in SE Asia


Taking cognisance of the resurgence of coronavirus cases in southeast Asia and constituents of Europe, the Centre on Thursday, 17 March, urged all states to restart monitoring influenza like diseases (ILI) and severe acute respiratory infections (SARI) instances so that no early warning alerts are missed and COVID-19 is controlled.

In a letter to extra Chief Secretary, fundamental Secretary, and health Secretary of all States/UTs, Union fitness Secretary Rajesh Bhushan stated that sufferers who are hospitalised with ILI and SARI could be validated for COVID-19 and high quality samples should be despatched for genome sequencing.

In a letter to the states, Bhushan emphasised that there should still be continued focus on 5 fold approach – look at various, tune, deal with, Vaccination and adherence to COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.
