1,026 soldiers of Ukraine's 36th marine brigade, together with 162 officers, have surrendered within the besieged port city of Mariupol, in keeping with a press release from the Russian defence ministry.

There was no immediate remark from the Ukrainian president's workplace, the Ukrainian typical body of workers or the defence ministry. Ukraine's widespread workforce, in its morning report, had noted that Russian forces have been proceeding with assaults in Mariupol on the Azovstal iron and steel works and the port.
Russia stated 151 wounded Ukrainian troopers were treated immediate and taken to Mariupol's city sanatorium. Russian television had showed photos of what it pointed out were marines giving themselves up on the iron and steel works in Mariupol on Tuesday.
Reuters experiences that earlier the Chechen chief Ramzan Kadyrov has observed more than 1,000 Ukrainian marines had surrendered, and he urged ultimate forces within the Azovstal steel mill to hand over.
"within Azovstal in the meanwhile there are about 200 wounded who can't receive any medical assistance," Kadyrov observed in his submit. "For them and all of the rest it would be superior to conclusion this pointless resistance and go home to their families."
